A night that will be remembered for a long time by the Clippers fans, who last night, at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, were able to witness the roaring victory of their favorites, against the hosts of the Bucks.
The absences were many, many and if Lue’s team was missing PG, R. Jackson and M. Morris Sr., the Bucks were missing the members of the Big three, as well as the strongest players of the team: Antetokounmpo, Jrue Holiday and Kris Middleton.
Anyone would have expected a “not to be remembered” game, but Robert Covington decided that it shouldn’t have been like that; not only did the ex-Portlander score his personal Career-high of 43 points, but he also set a new franchise record for triples scored: 11 on 18 attempts; the previous record was 9 triples.
The Clippers, to make their night even more precious, also set another record: the one for points scored in a game, scoring 153. The previous record was 152 pts.
In addition to Covington, undisputed MVP of the game, the rest of the team was more than up to the task and how not to mention the role player, Amir Coffey, who closes with 32 points, or Luke Kennard, who scores 23 and the double double of an increasingly improved Isaiah Hartenstein (14 points, 10 rebounds).
After the mockery of the overtime against the Bulls, Ty Lue’s team showed a defensive/offensive performance that didn’t give the Bucks a chance; the Bucks, however, played without their best players.
Young Jordan Nwora and former Knicks Bobby Portis, tried to lead their team with their 28 and 25 points, but alas, they met a team that already had in its destiny, a magical and record-breaking night.
Below are the highlights from the Bucks-Clippers showdown:
